I worked with some people in the cartoon space pretty briefly, and my guess is MTG as a media franchise isn't something they've invested in because they don't think it can generate toy sales. Ironically their best IP for a multi media franchise is MTG and they've dragged their feet forever on that Netflix adaptation (plus it's centered around Gideon, a kind of boring character that's long since dead.) They were really banking on becoming a big media company but they haven't done anything too remarkable on that front in ages. I think Amazon had a bit of a shit run recently too?
